Description
The inscription on the porcelain jar is written in classical Chinese.
A fluent, poetic translation would be:
“With the jade pot in hand, one pours and savors for long in the chamber;
Attaining purity as its essence, the flavor brings enduring joy in fourfold delight.”
Spout side translates to:
“Green pines and the Changjiang (Yangtze) river reflect the mountain hues;
Two pavilions bring joy in succession.
In past generations, the mysterious and profound was extolled.”
